If the Court is representing another person, I usually think about all the traits of the Court. (I have done this, say, with Knight of Cups before, and especially with King of Wands.) Usually I go with the forethumb for courts, that the person in the card is me unless I immediately feel differently. Then I think of important questions, like: "What is that ornate cup to me?" "Am I this Queen, or is it someone else?" The man dressed in black is also focusing on three spilled over cups so intently that he isn't noticing the two cups behind him. I also relate things like that to the other cards of the suit, like the 5 of Cups. In this case, the Queen of Cups is so focused on that cup she isn't even trying to take her eyes off it. Then I look at their gaze, their attire, and their objects. So I know I should probably be focusing my attention on matters of the heart. Welcome to the board!įor Court Cards in particular, I look first at the person's suit. This probably belongs in Using Tarot Cards, but I'll reply anyways. Thanks ahead of time for helping out a newby!! My question is when you read do you go by the meanings as you see them or by the meanings others have written for the cards? What do you do when you see things as drastically different as in this situation? Her throne is very uncomfortable as it has no arm rests for her and surrounds her cutting off her peripheral vision. She is surrounded by land that has high cliffs so she has no easy access to shore. You could see it was very expensive, but of no use for practical purposes as it appears the lid is not removable. I saw a queen trapped in the middle of the water with her feet upon rocky ground looking at her precious and elaborate cup in disgust. Usually they are along the same line, but with the Queen of cups my interpretation was exactly the opposite. As suggested on some web sights I first tried to interpret the card myself, then turned to other sources to see what meaning they gave the card. Tonight I did a reading and had the Queen of Cups come up. Let yourself be inspired by this Queen in whatever form she appears in your life.I am brand new to Tarot and excited about learning more about the meanings and how people read. In a reading, she tells you that her special energy has meaning for you at this time. This Queen can also represent a man or woman who is like her, or an atmosphere of gentle love, acceptance and respect for feelings. For example: Are you aware of the emotional climate? Are you feeling loving? Do you trust your heart? Have you received an intuitive message? Have you been moved by another's pain? In readings, the Queen of Cups asks you to think and feel as she does. Her love includes and embraces everyone and everything. The Queen of Cups feels deeply and has a reverence for all aspects of God's creation. She is often moved by the beauty and tragedy of life. She trusts her intuition and so is more open to knowledge that comes from within herself and beyond. She is never moody, but understands moods and their influence. She senses emotional currents and knows what others are experiencing without having to ask. In all matters, she lets her heart lead the way. Her reactions to the world are guided by her feelings. There is a gentleness about her that soothes and calms. Because she has a sweet, loving and sensitive nature, the Queen of Cups has a kind word for everyone and never reacts with anger or impatience. The personality of the Queen of Cups combines the positive water energy of the Cups suit with the inward focus of a Queen. Compare the ranks and suits of the two cards to see what such a pair might mean.Įxample: for the Queen of Cups/Knight of Wands, go to and The Queen of Cups can form a pair with any other court card. Spiritual feels oneness with God and the universe Intuitive is always tuned to emotional undercurrents Tenderhearted is easily moved by another's pain ACTIONS Loving turns away wrath with caring
